While you're exploring Velika Planina, you will no doubt come across this small quaint kirk that’s on the left side near the end and above the herdsmen settlement.
The original was burnt down in World War II by German soldiers, unfortunately much like most of the traditional Shepherd's huts here, so this church is also a replica.
Even though it was rebuilt in 1988 by the initiative of the herdsmen, the Mary of the Snow Chapel is still now being used as a site for Sunday mass during the summer months. Also, every August 5th is a special holiday for the whole settlement and the wooden alpine chapel as it’s dedicated to Snow Mary.
