A pedestrian-only bridge that connects the medieval and the modern part of Ljubljana.

The Triple Bridge is one of Ljubljana’s most recognizable attractions. This bridge is known for connecting quite literally the new and the old: Ljubljana’s historical medieval town with the modern district of the city.

The history of the bridge itself is quite old, and there actually has been a bridge in this exact spot since 1280! The Triple Bridge was the third bridge in this location, constructed in 1842 in honour of the Archduke Franz Karl of Austria.

From the Central Bridge, there are beautiful views of both Prešeren Square and the Ljubljana Castle, a perfect spot for photographs and to take in the scenery. On the sides of the bridge, there are stairways that lead you down to the river terraces, which are a great place to take a casual stroll.
