This expansive wine cellar was built back in 1967 - travel back in time with it.
If you’ve never been to a wine cellar that is spread out on 7 underground floors, taking 170 stairs to each level, then this wine cellar will be a cool experience. The stairs themselves are a dazzling spiral, making for a trancing descent. Before the creation of this wine cellar, the grapes in the wine-making process were harvested, pressed and then kept in the vineyard cottages. Now, with a proper wine cellar, they can be stored in better conditions.
Since then, over two decades ago, the Puklavec family took over the wine cellar and upgraded it for contemporary use as well as opened it for guided tours to the public. With the tour, you can taste a glass of their finest sparkling white wine, or have a culinary treat with it.
For wine lovers: the state-of-the-art equipment, old tanks, huge wooden barrels, and around 254,000 bottles of wine stacked will be a sight to see.
