Hiking: In the vicinity of Ardales there are beautiful routes. Some recommended itineraries are:

• Ardales-Turón Castle. Low-medium difficulty; 8 Km .; 4 hours.
• The Rook. Medium difficulty; 11 Km .; 3-4 hours.
• Huma. High difficulty; 11 Km .; 3 hours.
• Peak of the Convent. Difficulty low; 9 Km .; 3.5 hours.
• Ruins of Bobastro - La Encantada. Difficulty low; 7.5 Km .; 3 hours.
• The Gaitanejo-Caminito del Rey. Difficulty low; 5.5 Km .; 2 hours.

Climbing: Ardales is located in the vicinity of some of the most extraordinary rock climbing areas of Andalusia. Compact limestone, verticality, landscape and good weather are the best presentation. In the surroundings of Ardales you will find satisfaction both the most demanding sports climber with difficulty, as the classical climber lover of long, difficult and compromised routes. The main areas are:

• El Chorro, 15 minutes, tracks up to 300 m. in difficulties from 3º to 8b. One of the best climbing schools in Spain with about 600 itineraries.

• Tajos del Cabrero, 30 minutes on the road from the Guadalteba reservoir to Antequera. Oriented to the north, it is an ideal area for summer. Adventure terrain with numerous artificial climbing routes.

• Throat of Arroyo de la Venta, 20 minutes on the road from Campillos to Ronda, we discover the extraordinary canyon excavated by the stream of Venta, making its way to the Guadalteba River. Walls more than 100 m. in high quality limestone.

• Abdalajís Valley, 35 minutes next to the village of the same name. It offers 30 routes of up to 70 meters. Grades 4-7. It is a south facing area ideal for climbing in winter.

• Río Turón Valley, 15 minutes in the direction of El Burgo. Some 100 roads equipped on both sides of the river.

• Ardales - El Chorro - Valley of Abdalajís. Difficulty low; 18 Km .; 2 hours.

• Ardales - El Burgo (Río Turón Valley). Difficulty low; 20 Km .; 2 hours.

• Route of the Reservoirs. Difficulty low; 40 Km .; 3.5 hours. It crosses the reservoirs of the rivers Turón, Guadalteba and Guadalhorce.
