As modern as its society is, Sweden is a country full of seemingly untouched nature and ever-present history. First stop for many visitors is historic and compact Stockholm, full of heritage, home to the Vasa Museum and gateway to the Stockholm Archipelago.  Yet, you haven't seen Sweden until you've admired its natural side. Its wide natural landscapes offer a multitude of splendid vistas and sights, from dense forests to crystal clear lakes, waterfalls and rolling mountains. The stunning but rugged wilderness of Sarek National Park, called “Europe's last wilderness” by some, is a challenging but highly rewarding area to explore. It was the first of a list of 29 established national parks and is part of the vast and Unesco protected terrains of Laponia, together with the national parks Padjelanta, Stora Sjöfallet and the taiga and ravines of Muddus National Park. Set out to spot elk, wolverines and more Swedish wildlife or visit in winter for a chance to see the magical Northern Lights. Kosterhavet maritime park is the place to go for lobster or seal safaris.

Sweden

Jönköping is the highest county of southern Sweden, with heights rising above 1,300 feet (400 metres). Its rough terrain is studded with lakes and drained by the rivers Emån, Lagan, and Nissan. Although it is primarily wooded, the län supports rye and oats cultivation and cattle raising. Most manufacturers exploit the timber supply. The main city is Jönköping, the capital, on the southern shore of Lake Vätter. Jönköping is the tenth largest city in Sweden and is an example of the 'Swedish middle town'. In this region, you can visit the National Park Store Mosse. It allows an infinity of activities such as cycling, canoeing, horse riding, fishing and a thousand and one distractions for children. And for the curious, you can discover the museum of famous furniture builder, IKEA.

Jönköping

Welcome to Stjärneborg Museums and the unique pyramid. A plant created by nobleman engineer Malte Liewen Stiergranat - "The man who did what fell in him".

Here you can guided the museum staff or a shorter presentation in the form of a video game. Visit the Kuriosakabinet and the railway museum as well as the other buildings such as the Påtorpet and Kloffstensstugan.

The Pyramid created Malte Liewen Stiergranat with the Chevy Pyramid as a model. Here he is balm in a walled sarcophagus. The pyramid is managed by the church and has the same opening hours as the museum.
