Since the thirteenth century, the Castle of Gruyère overlooks a green hill in the heart of Switzerland.
Bathed in a magnificent panorama to the Alps, the medieval fortress was successively occupied by the Counts who erected by the bailiffs of Fribourg and Geneva families by Bovy and Balland before opening its doors in 1938 . We discover many treasures: the treads of the order of the Golden Fleece and delicate stained glass windows from the Middle Ages; the frescoes commissioned by the bailiffs in your old one Plan; paintings by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot and troubadour decorations of the Hall of Knights created Gruyères in the nineteenth century by a colony of passionate artists.
Ramparts with French gardens, the guard room to romantic lounges, the Castle of Gruyère takes you through eight centuries of art, history and legends.
