Ko Hong in Krabi is a rare example of marine karst: a lagoon formed by erosion of limestone, not by the growth of live coral. Tidal waves carved holes in the island's walls until the cavity inside grew big enough for the roof to collapse. This created a "hidden" lagoon, accessible only through an underground channel.
