Wat Mahathat is an ancient temple inside Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Historical Park. Aside from some stupas and a heavily ruined prayer hall, it is known for a Buddha head overgrown by tree roots. The image of this head has become iconic - every postcard shop in the country is bound to have a few pictures of it.
