Porto Santo is the smallest of the inhabited island in the Madeira archipelago. It was discovered in 1418, one year before Madeira, by portuguese sailors. Although overshadowed by the lush beauty of the larger island, Porto Santo garnered interest since its discovery and is still very sought after today, mainly due to its golden sandy beaches that can be found almost nowhere in Madeira, and that compliment well its mostly dry climate.
