A Walk Through History

As you embark on the Falls Nature Trail, you'll be greeted by a mesmerizing sight - three bridges stacked on top of each other. This architectural marvel is a testament to the area's rich history. Follow the path through ancient oak woodland, descending deep into the Rheidol Gorge. Along the way, you'll encounter a viewing gazebo, offering a stunning vantage point to admire the 300ft Mynach waterfalls.

Descending into the Gorge

As you venture further down the gorge, the path becomes steeper, leading you to a flight of 100 steps known as "Jacobs' Ladder". Take your time to descend these steps, as they offer breathtaking views of the Mynach waterfalls. Once you reach the bottom, you'll cross the iconic "humped bridge", marking the halfway point of your journey.

Ascending the Gorge

To complete the full circuit, you'll need to ascend the other side of the gorge. As you climb the steps, take advantage of the stopping places to catch your breath and soak in the awe-inspiring views of the Mynach waterfalls. The ascent may be challenging, but the reward is well worth it.

The Enchanting Punchbowl Walk

For a shorter walk, you can explore the Punchbowl area. This recently extended trail features a new seating area with panoramic views of the three bridges. Practical Information

Devil's Bridge Waterfalls is open all year round, and admission fees apply. The Falls Nature Trail takes a minimum of 45 minutes to complete, while the shorter Punchbowl Walk can be enjoyed in approximately 10 minutes. Please note that due to the geology of the Rheidol Gorge, the walks are not suitable for elderly or disabled visitors, or those with pushchairs. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Plan Your Visit

To make the most of your visit, it's recommended to arrive during the attendant hours, from 9.45 am to 5.00 pm (hours may vary depending on the season). Outside of these hours, entrance is available through coin-operated turnstiles, so be sure to bring £1 coins with you. Please note that there is no entry allowed one hour before dusk, as the paths are not lit at night.

Parking and Accessibility

Parking is free in the customer car park, but there is a four-hour time limit. Overnight parking is not permitted. If the car park is full, an overflow car park is available just 200 meters up the road at The Woodlands Caravan Park. Additionally, wheelchair and pushchair access is available during school holidays or by prior arrangement. Simply ask the waterfalls attendant for the gate code.
