Are you an animal lover? Then you should definitely visit the Camel Park. The park was set in 1998 and it is located only 15 minutes away from  La[rnaca](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-cultural-stroll-in-larnaca-wzs3). Camels were used for transportation in the past years, but nowadays you can find them in the park, made specifically for their pleasure. It is a perfect place to relax and get closer to nature, and of course to the animals. Apart from camels, in the park you can also find various species of animals, such as deers, ostriches, goats, horses, lamas, pelicans, parrots and a lot more.

The park offers the opportunity to ride a camel or even a horse within the park's grounds; if you are an adventurous type of a visitor, then you can enjoy an exciting safari through the countryside. The duration of it is approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Also the park is ideally offered for barbecues, parties and school excursions.

In addition, you can stroll around the park and relax in its gardens. Furthermore, if you are hungry, you can definitely try some delicious local dishes and specialties. Last but not least, you can purchase camel milk, which is sold as an "alternative medicine" and it is said to improve the quality of life, as well as to prevent diabetes, food allergies and auto-immune disorders.

The famous Salt lake of Larnaca is a combination of four lakes, three of which are interconnected. The lake is located on the southwest part of Larnaca. The Salt lake covers a total area of fifteen square kilometres and it can be found on the road to the International Airport.

The lake during wintertime, fills up with water and hosts thousands of stunning migratory birds. In contrast, during summertime, the water evaporates, leaving  an impressive crust of salt on the surface. In the past years, those were used to extract a great amount of salt, which was later exported as a local product of Cyprus.

The Lake is accessible all year round and it is free of entrance.

It is one of the lakes with a major importance at a European Level. Oroklini Lake has an ecological importance and that lies in the fact that "two bird species considered of conservation priority", nest there in a significant number.

The lake is located at 5 kilometers from Larnaca's city center, on the southern edge of Oroklini village. It is a natural park with an extended area, which constitutes the remnant of an once much larger wetland. In addition, it's worth mentioned that its wetland is an important stop for migratory birds, such as Herons, Flamingos and other exotic birds.
