**Georgia **is famous for its green resorts. You will see many beautiful coniferous forests here, that become even more charming in snowy winters. After having spent several days in Bakuriani, I decided to tell you about the **most popular winter destination of Georgia. Bakuriani  **is a snowy resort that is lost in a beautiful forest, and this place is full of magic. 

The way to Bakuriani

Bakuriani is located in the *Samtskhe-Javakheti *Region, at an elevation of 1700 meters above the sea level. It is located 30 km away from *Borjomi, *which is famous for its mineral waters. If you have ever been there, you definitely know about the lovely “Kukushka.” It is a train that connects Borjomi and Bakuriani. This place has visitors during all seasons. However, Bakuriani is the most attractive during winter. While traveling from Borjomi to Bakuriani, you will notice that the level of the snow is increasing gradually. It looks like a fairy tale with many Christmas trees full of snow. You are going up and up, and nature gets even more fabulous. 

Ski Resort and other activities

A ski resort exists from 1935 in Bakuriani, and each year, it attracts more and more ski lovers. It is still the favorite place of professional sportsmen and people who just love skiing and other winter sports. There are several ski lifts in Bakuriani with different difficulty. *“Kokhta” *and “Didveli” are the best choice for those who ski really well. The beginners can choose “twenty-five” where they can improve their skills. After an active day of skiing, you can rest in the cozy cafes and restaurants that are located nearby. Bakuriani resort is a great place to have fun with family and friends. Apart from skiing, you can enjoy snowboarding, horse riding, snowmobiles, etc. There is also a nice park in the center of Bakuriani that is a real heaven for the kids. Here, you can enjoy ice-skating, and many different fun activities.  

The best time to visit Bakuriani

The best months to visit Bakuriani are from December to February. Despite the fact that it is really difficult to find suitable accommodation at this time, and sometimes there is a big queue for skiing, all guests still love to spend time there, as Bakuriani looks like a magical place, with lots of snow and fun. After a long day, you can rest and enjoy the evenings as well. You can sit in front of the fireplace, get a cup of Georgian wine and share the best moments with your friends and family. 

While being in our country, find at least one day to visit Bakuriani, especially in winter. It is the most popular winter destination in Georgia.
