Every Sunday, an archbishop – called José Antonio de San Alberto - used to invite its congregation, after the mass, to go up to one of the two hills of the city, giving an example himself to come back with a stone, as a sign of penitence. That is how he gathered the main material for the construction of the temple that we know today, using those stones for **San Felipe de Neri's** construction.
