Best Views in London

From street level London is a beautiful, complex, dirty and amazing city, but to be able to get away from or above it all and take it in as a whole can give you an entirely new perspective. These following three spots are my favourite for seeing London in a new light!

Birds Eye View

That very tall and sharp building in the middle of the picture is The Shard, standing 309 metres high. It's the tallest building in the UK, the EU and in the top 100 tallest buildings in the world. There is absolutely no better way to see central London and the river than from the viewing point on the 68th floor. It's right in the middle of the city, and gives incredible views out over the entire city. It's so tall that people have even BASE jumped off it (skydiving off buildings or landmarks)!

Star Seeking

The views from the Greenwich Observatory in Greenwich, South-East London are fantastic, and offer a more natural, green perspective of this sometimes cold and alien commercial city. On top of the great views and massive open park area in front that you can see in the photo above, there is also the observatory itself, and the National Maritime Museum that is housed in the former Naval College.

Historic Homes

The final spot is taken by Primrose Hill on the northern side of Regent's Park. This is an incredibly expensive and historic area to live (good luck buying a house there - average house price £1.3 million) but it does include a beautiful, sprawling park and Primrose Hill. 65 metres above sea level, the hill raises relaxing onlookers just enough to get a great view of much of central London, with The Shard and St Paul's Cathedral in view in the photo above.
