You can start exploring the city at the Kärdla Marina that was built in 1849. This marina was destroyed in 1944, during World War II, but it has been restored, and now yachts and ships can anchor there again. Next stop can be the Kärdla's old** Power Plant that stands over the shores of the Nuutri river. This plant was shut down in 1977 but it is still a fascinating sight to observe from its outside.
