Today we visit this little corner of paradise, Giardino di Turri, a piece of the Netherlands in Sardinia. Entering the park, one has the impression of having flown in a moment from the beautiful **Sardinia **to the Netherlands. Giardino di Turri has nothing to envy from the beautiful tulip park of Keukenhof, the most famous park in the world.
This garden is located in Molin, in the **Marmilla **area, in the south-west of Sardinia. It is a tulip garden that hosts about 300 thousand tulips every year, of different species and different colors and shades. In the spring, visiting this garden is a joy to behold. The park remains open to the public throughout the flowering period.
The owner of the garden, after a visit to the tulip fields in the Netherlands, was struck by the spectacle of nature and decided to build a tulip park in Sardinia.
Its realization was first experimental, to verify if the climatic conditions of this area were suitable to host these flowers. Later on, daffodils, hyacinths, buttercups, and over 400 varieties of roses were added to the tulips. It is also pleasant to walk in the avenue of **aromatic herbs **or along the literary path, where on some panels, there are famous phrases related to the world of nature and flowers.
Giardino di Turri is divided into an exposure area and a collection field. The exhibition area allows you to admire the beautiful colors of these flowers and is much loved by photography lovers. Starting from here, and following a path that winds through centuries-old olive trees, you arrive at the collection field, which is located on the hill. The plateau offers a **wonderful view **full of colors and infuses **peace **and serenity. Giardino di Turri has been included in the list of the Great Italian gardens, which consists of the most beautiful gardens and parks in Italy.
Upon entering, at the ticket office, visitors are given a vase of tulips. Still, it is also possible- as it happens in the Netherlands- to collect and take home the tulips yourself from the collection area. The picked tulips will be paid for upon exit.
The **Marmilla **area offers many places to visit: from the **nuraghe **in the Nuragic complex of Barumini to the nearby **Casa Zapata**, the majestic Giara plateau with the famous ponies that graze in the wild, the tombs of the Giants in Siddi, the Nuragic fortress Su Mulinu in Villanovafranca, or finally the Sardegna in Miniatura park.
All the **Mamilla **area has been considered the barn of Italy, due to the extensive cultivation of wheat, since the time of Ancient Rome. It is currently one of the few areas where the ancient **stoneground Cappelli durum wheat **is produced (Senator Cappelli). **Turri **is also the second place in **Italy **for the production of saffron, the red gold of Sardinia, which is obtained from the crocus. In Marmilla, you can also find the best **wines**, not only traditional ones but also varieties coming from **organic **and biodynamic agriculture.
Without needing to travel too much to get to the Netherlands, and without having to fly, you can plan a trip to the Giardino di Turri, a piece of the Netherlands in Sardinia. It is a unique experience in the beautiful land of Sardinia. Do not miss this opportunity!
