Whether you are looking for some coffee to start your morning, a spot to relax or catch up on some work, or a place to enjoy a sweet treat with some friends, Aix-en-Provence has lots of great cafés to choose from. Read along and discover the best cafés in this vibrant city.
Mana Espresso is the perfect place to drop by if you are wanting specialty coffee, lunch, or dessert. It is often busy, and once you try their food and drinks, you will know why. This is a place that takes coffee and food seriously. The passion and effort they put in is clear, from their latte art to their beautifully fanned avocado toast. And if you're wanting something with chocolate, their brownies are quite possibly the best I have ever tasted. Everything about Mana Espresso is insta-worthy and you'll be caught between wanting to take a photo of your food and drinks and wanting to consume them as soon as you see them. It is also worth noting that Mana Espresso's food is vegetarian and vegan friendly and they serve Sunday brunch. The cafe is run by a British couple, so there is no need to worry if your French isn't up to speed. And if coffee or tea isn't your thing, they also serve delicious freshly pressed juices.
If you're looking for something warm to drink and a good book to read, look no further than Book in Bar, which is both a bookshop and a small cafe. Here, you can find many different kinds of tea as well as other specialty drinks. Most of the books they sell are in English, although they have a selection of books in other languages as well. The relaxed atmosphere of Book in Bar is a great place to get some work done, or just enjoy a good book. Sometimes the shop has events and author readings, so check out their calendar and see if anything piques your interest!
Coco Bohème is a great spot to hang out with friends. It has an almost never-ending selection of teas to choose from as well as coffee, other drinks, and food. They have board games available to play while you are there. Coco Bohème also organizes many events during the evening, such as an English-French language exchange night, quiz nights and open mic nights. There is always something going on, so go and see what Coco Bohème has to offer!
Here is another place for tea lovers: 60 degrés has an extensive selection of teas, herbal teas, and iced teas to choose from. In addition to their tea which comes served in unique glasses, you can get lunch from their menu which changes daily. Their food is organic and they have options for those who are gluten-free or vegetarian. Don't forget to try one of their desserts!
Once you have sufficiently caffeinated yourself at one of these cafés and you are ready to explore Aix, perhaps you will want to follow in the footsteps of painter Paul Cézanne.
