Mostly mountainous, it has access to a tiny portion of the Adriatic Sea coastline in the south. Great natural attractions can be found all around, even close to the main cities. Take a horse carriage to Vrelo Bosne to join Sarajevo for quiet getaways and picnics. The waterfalls of Kravice, about 40km from Mostar, make for another fabulous natural trip. A popular spot for city dwellers and rafters, the water of the Trebižat River drops some 30 meters in a beautiful natural setting of tuff walls. Top picks for village life can be found in the historic citadel of Počitelj, Blagaj or, for environmentalists, in the Zelenkovac ecovillage near Mrkonjić Grad. Just outside of Radimlja is the largest collection of Stećak, a remarkable kind of pre-Ottoman tombstones that are found throughout the ancient Bosnian Kingdom.

It is part of the UNESCO programme. Close to Mostar the small city of Pocitelj has a lot to offer. Even older than Mostar the city has lots of historical sites. Old houses, mosques and forterres are waiting for you. But the Sahat Kula, the tower of the city offers the best view of the horizon. If you are more into nature the region also offers ideal places to cover your needs. You can go skiing on the mountains of Bjelašnica and Igman, which are the best locations in the country. For hiking it is recommended to locate in the west of the region.

Lastovo is an island municipality in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County in Croatia. The municipality consists of 46 islands with a total population of 792 people. In 2006, the Croatian Government made the island and its archipelago a nature park.

Mljet (pronounced [mʎɛ̂t]; Latin: Melita, Italian: Meleda) is the most southerly and easterly of the larger Adriatic islands of the Dalmatia region of Croatia. The National Park includes the western part of the island, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Soline Bay and a sea belt 500 m wide from the most prominent cape of Mljet covering an area of 54 km2

Stradun (pronounced [strǎduːn]) or Placa (Stradone or Corso) is the main street of Dubrovnik, Croatia. The limestone-paved pedestrian street runs some 300 metres through the Old Town, the historic part of the city surrounded by the Walls of Dubrovnik. The site of the present-day street used to be a marshy channel which separated Ragusa from the forest settlement of Dubrava before it was reclaimed in the 13th century. Stradun stretches through the walled town in the east-west direction, connecting the western entrance called the "Pile Gate" (Vrata od Pila) to the "Ploče Gate" (Vrata od Ploča) on the eastern end. Both ends are also marked with 15th-century fountains (the so-called Large Onofrio's Fountain in the western section and the Small Onofrio's Fountain on the east end) and bell towers (the Dubrovnik Bell Tower to the east end and the bell tower attached to the Franciscan monastery to the west).
