You can expect me to promote Ohrid anytime I write. Not just because it’s Unesco protected, or my birth place, but because it’s the most beautiful spot on Balkan. There are a lot of jokes about people living here, for example, they are not nice and with a bad sense of humour. But in order to break these rumours, I decided to introduce you with Slave, the Ohrid weirdo.
Slave means celebration in Slavic, and this person is doing that mostly, celebrating his existence. He is known as a weirdo because 20 years ago he went on world trip by his bike. He succeeded, which makes him more weird.
You can meet him around the churches in Ohrid. By the way, there is 365 churches, so, you might need to search for a while. He is willing to show you around as a tour guide, and don't doubt to join him, he knows a lot and he likes sharing his knowledge. All he asks for is some tips after the tour. ‘’Pay as you wish Ohrid’’ we can call it. If he’s not around some classical monuments, then for sure you will find him in Ja[zz Inn](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/are-you-ready-for-brain-wash-in-ohrid-rx11). That’s a bar in Ohrid, where you see him discussing world politics with some tourists in several different languages.
I don't know how old he is. I guess people like Slave don't count their years. That’s probably because of the intensive experiences they are going through. He signed for math and after he shifted to a philosophy university in Belgrade, but somehow he is always coming back to Ohrid. He matches perfectly with the big blue water. He is the lake man, full of stories and knowledge, showing up around, discussing important topics with the people, and living life to the fullest. He likes techno music, he likes to talk about politics and suspicious substances. The Dionis of Ohrid, that's how my friend (Igor Shapeski, the author of this amazing photos) likes to think about him. To this day, I still haven't found a better name.
