I might be a woman, but I also like speed and driving cars. As fast as I can. I mean as it’s necessary… Even though, I have only a tiny little car to survive in the Budapest’s traffic and to exploit every few meters when searching for a parking lot. Thus, I have no chance to feel the freedom of real, real rush, pushing the accelerator hard. And this is the actual reason why I am so enthusiastic about the speedways. Since I’m pretty sure that there are lots of speed lovers amongst Itinari’s readers, I would like to display Hungary’s most important and popular race tracks. My country has five essential venues for car racers and bikers, but even you can have an opportunity to experience how it feels when no policeman tells you how fast you can drive. So let’s check all of them!
Hungaroring’s race track is situated less than 20 kilometers from Budapest. The total length of the speedway was 4013,786 meters at the time of its launch, in 1986. Following the transformation of the Hungaroring race track in 2003, the length increased to 4381,08 meters, which is its current size too. As for the home stretch, its total length is 788,9 meters, with the maximum reachable speed of about 320 km/h - of course, this cannot be achieved by cars known to us, only by F1 race cars. It is recommended that you use only the vehicles with perfect technical condition here. With this in mind, the Hungaroring is the greatest example of Hungarian speedways, which in 2002 was chosen the Formula 1 Race Track of The Year, by the way.
Pannóniaring is one of the world's safest biker and car speed racing circuits. There are large slip areas, owing to crash zones ranging from 50 to 150 meters and to the environmental conditions. If we get in the car and want to roll down to the Pannóniaring, all we have to do is to write Ostffyasszonyfa into the navigation system. Since I've already been there, moreover in the rain, I think it's worthwhile to drive even 201 km, if you're leaving from Budapest, for example.
Euroring is located 53 km from Budapest, in Örkény. The race track is suitable especially for motor racing, and regarding the cars, for the time racing and practicing. The total length of Euroring is 2750 meters, and its width at the home stretch is 12 meters, while at the remaining parts it is 10 meters in average. There is also a smaller inner track that is suitable for the kart racing, and it’s also a great place for drifters to practice.

In 2007, the Kakucs Ring opened its doors. The length of the track is 1007 meters, and its width is 8 meters, while 12 at the home stretch. The original idea of this particular speedway primarily targeted the Gokart audience, but we can also meet the super motor community and scooter competitions. Because of the super bikers, the track slightly got speeded up during the years, by some renovation works, so that the enjoyable motorcycling is guaranteed on the track. Recently, more and more car events and tests were conducted here.
Unfortunately, there is very little arithmetical information available about the Rábaring, which can be found near to the municipality of Écs, around 1,5 hours from the capital. Still, it has a great oval-shaped track, and we can regularly watch very spectacular rally sprints, motorbiker and skill races here.
As you can see, Hungary loves car and motor sports, and we give everything to the speed lovers to have the proper venues to watch or to be a part of racing. In my country, if you are a fond of speed, regardless if you are more of a biker or a car driver, you will have multiple choices to choose from. When contemplating over going to the speedway to have some fun, you cannot really make a bad decision, if you eventually pick one out of Hungary’s five essential venues for car racers and bikers.
