You probably didn’t know that Spain is the country with the largest leisure-coastline in Europe, did you? A very large proportion of the extensive Spanish coastline is perfectly suitable for the enjoyment of those of you who love chilling on the sand, swimming, preparing nighttime-barbecues or “moragas”, and many other summer activities. Another cool fact is this: by law, the whole of the Spanish coastline is absolutely open to the public and no coastal terrain can be privatized. Which means everyone can enjoy it, at any time – except dogs.
That alone makes it an awesome country, undeniably. But let me tell you about the “Costa del Sol”, in southern Spain. If you’re looking for a beach-and-sea kind of holiday, the Costa del Sol is a place you should definitely consider. But not only that. You will find that the Costa del Sol is a very prosperous and interesting area, which offers opportunities and activities that will suit a -I will suit everyone. There will be an awesome in-depth analysis of each of these for you in the upcoming articles; today, I will tell you about the general aspects of the Costa del Sol, and the reasons why it is a place you should have in your to-do list.
The Costa del Sol is the name we Spaniards have given to a long coastline located in the southern region of Andalucía, which stands at the lowest corner of the Iberian Peninsula, right above Morocco. Its name literally means “the sun coast”, and yes, it is for a reason (in a cold winter night temperatures may fall to 10ºC, but 15ºC is the temperature you may expect.) Talk about a great place to be, the whole year long).
Many of the cities located along the Costa del Sol will probably sound familiar to you, cities like Malaga, or Marbella, which offer a very wide range of opportunities. But I’m not here to tell you about what you probably already know. I am here to introduce you to the hidden beauties and adventures that you will be able to experience here. Check it out:
