November 2017. Like they say “Winter is coming”. It doesn’t scare me anymore. I settled in **Morzine**, **Haute-Savoie**, France for the season. Now I have two goals: enjoy the ski area of les **Portes du Soleil **as much as I can, and share my discoveries with you! *Avoriaz*, *Essert-Romand*, *Montriond*, *Morzine*, *Saint-Jean-d’Aulps*, … They are just next door, waiting for us.

After an intense raid in Scandinavia, I had to find a place to stay for the cold times. For more than a year I had this obsession: spend a season in a **ski resort**. Here it is: **the Alps** will be my home for the next few months.

The ski resort is ready for the season to start. It has snowed for days and let me tell you something: fresh powder for Christmas was all I could ask for! Let’s hope the dreamy weather will last.

My plans? **Ride** as much as possible of course! But not only… I want to enjoy the mountains in many ways. I want to **wa[lk**](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/walks-and-hikes-around-morzine-6lj8), **snowshoe hike**, **cross-country ski** and more if I can. Treat myself with **ho[t chocolates**](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/hot-chocolate-tour-morzine-g29y), nice **pizzas**, delicious **traditional meals**, **cocktails **and **parties**.

I found a job. I found accommodation. I found a snowboard. I found co-workers, housemates, locals and seasonal workers. I found friends. I’m ready!
