The calm and peaceful Hel Peninsula is definitely worth a holiday if you want to enjoy fresh seafood or catch some waves while kite surfing. This small expanse of land is Poland’s northernmost point and a kite surf paradise with hidden beaches, beautiful national parks, and undisturbed nature to enjoy. The peninsula is accessible by a short boat trip from Sopot or by car from Gdańsk, driving along the narrow road, having the beautiful ocean view from both sides.

Hel: Heaven on Earth

The fresh maritime climate in Hel Peninsula, which is surrounded by the Baltic sea from three sides, makes it a place like heaven for anyone who enjoys nature, sunbathing and swimming in the sea. The narrow land has two beautiful Baltic beaches to offer: one long and wide sandy beach on the high seas side, and one smaller beach with an irregular coastline on the Puck Bay side near the port. Besides the beaches, you can also enjoy a nice walk on the beautiful promenade in the centre of Hel, with many small cafes and amazing fish restaurants. Another well-known attraction here is hiking through the desert, where you can observe the endless sand wandering around the dunes. And if you’re still in the mood for discovering the busy but culturally interessting Tri-City, you can take a daytrip on one of the beautiful sailing boats to Sopot.

Kitesurf Paradise

But the paradisiac peninsula is definetly not only a place of serenity and relaxation: Whoever is interessted in kite surf, will be intrigued to know that the Hel Peninsula is considered as one of Europe’s best kite surfing sceneries! The low waters of it’s bay and the modest winds make the little surfer’s village the ideal spot for practicing kite surf – a sport that combines elements of windsurfing, surfing and paragliding. These perfect conditions have made the little peninsula a globally renowned surfer’s hotspot – with cool camp sites, hip surf shops and great vibes.

Make sure you check out this beautiful piece of land when you're in the north of Poland – not only if you’re into kite surf, but also if you simply enjoy wild nature, good food and white soft sand beaches.
