Sensing Belgrade: Create your own postcard

The sense of Belgrade. The books and songs, movies, and TV series were made to capture this phenomenon of what Belgrade is. I can say that this series of Sensing Belgrade would be an ambitious one since I want to do that in five texts: Tasting Belgrade, Smelling Belgrade, Sense of Touch in Belgrade, Sensing Sounds in Belgrade, View of Belgrade. I will be glad even if I just trigger you to explore it by yourself.

While living in Belgrade I met many foreign people and some of them even decided to move here after visiting it. Whenever I asked why they made this decision, no one had a precise answer. I ask people ‘’Why Belgrade?’’ They look at the sky with shiny eyes as they mumble ‘’mmmmmmm’’. Maybe it’s difficult to respond to this question like it is difficult to respond to ‘’Why do you like this delicious food?’’

Pictures of the city. Because we have the device to capture Belgrade in its physical state; this part is the easiest one to bring close to you. Here in Belgrade, you can see modern architecture, concrete architectural masterpieces. You can see two rivers merging into one (some people declare that it’s the most beautiful sight one can see). You can see oriental architecture, classicism, neoclassicism, natural and man-made grace...

You can capture photos of beautiful people and tables full of delicious Balkan food. You can keep them on your memory card and for sure they will stay in your head and heart because that's the way Belgrade makes an impression -until eternity!
