I understand that traveling is a very personal thing: some people enjoy visiting tourist spots and going to big popular cities. Other people like to see nature, visiting famous lakes, climbing high mountains, and spending some time in the countryside. However, some people want to go… shopping! And at Grande Vitória, the metropolitan region in the state of Es[pírito Santo](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/beach-time-in-vila-velha-espirito-santo-8j38), it is even better because of the many different options of shopping centers one can find.
Sometimes, rather than visiting tourist or natural spots, like Co[nvento da Penha](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-holy-view-from-the-convento-da-penha-vila-velha-dno5) or Se[tiba](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/bathing-in-praia-de-setiba-guarapari-2zpu), travelers prefer visiting shopping centers, to check some stores for buying souvenirs or even food for the next traveling days. But checking shop windows, although it might not sound touristic, can be an ultimate experience for us to understand the local preferences, their daily routine, and, therefore, to get a completely immersive experience.
In this story, I will suggest the best sh[opping centers](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/the-best-shopping-malls-in-sao-paulo-city-xv1v) to stroll around when you visit cities like Vila Velha and Vitória, in the region of Grande Vitória. I remember during my childhood, we would go to shopping centers just to play on the escalators. I hope you do not let your kids do the same!
This is the oldest and one of the biggest shopping centers in this region, which opened in 1993. It is in Vitória, and it has more than 400 stores, restaurants, stands, and much more. Many wealthy people go shopping there, so you will find very fancy stores, jewelry shops, and a great cinema. Also, you will find an exchange house, a few ATMs, a hair salon, and fast food spots, so you can find almost everything you need in one place. From this mall you can take a taxi or even walk to the beaches nearby, so you will find the location very convenient.
Located in the city of Vila Velha, this shopping center opened in 2014, and it is the biggest shopping center in the state of Espírito Santo. It has more than 230 stores, with famous brands as Decathlon, Havaianas, Track & Field, and much more. There is a Carrefour inside it as well, and the whole area is a pet-friendly space. It is enormous and very close to the beach of Coqueiral de Itaparica- you can go to the beach in the morning and have lunch in the shopping center, for example. No doubt, I would recommend you have a moqueca capixaba by the beach and go to Shopping Vila Velha for other reasons, but it is totally up to you!
Opened in 2002, it is the official shopping center for sophisticated people. In one of my stories, I mentioned Pr[aia da Costa](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/beach-time-in-vila-velha-espirito-santo-8j38) is the most expensive neighborhood in the whole state of Espírito Santo, so you can expect to find fancy stores and restaurants to eat. It has more than 200 stores and a big space that often hosts attractions for kids and adults.
The ones who live in the city can join their discount program for free parking, but tourists, be warned: you will have to pay to park there. Or should you just go walking from the beach to the shopping mall? It is again up to you!
One of the best parts of these shopping centers is that they are not far from the beaches so that you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Where do you want to go first?
