Located in the province of Perugia, the Umbrian town Spello is usually decorated with an abundance of colorful flower pots. Flowers are on the balconies, in front of the doors, on the walls,... everywhere. The arrangement of flowers is incredibly tasteful. It is neither too much nor too little. I must say that the Italians are not only stylish in fashion, but also in all aspects of everyday life.

Spello is unique in its use of flower and plant pots - they vary in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors. This certainly sets Spello apart from other charming Italian towns. There is probably nowhere else in Italy that is so vibrant and adorable.

The dreamy town is also famous for its flower festival called Infiorate di Spello, organized to celebrate the Corpus Domini feast. Every year, on the ninth Sunday after Easter, Spello is adorned with incredible carpets of flower creations. The next festival is on June 3, 2018. Check out the video below to get a sense of what the festival is like.

Spello can be reached directly by train from Rome or Perugia.
