Romania as a country has much to offer: from nature sites to unspoiled places but also music festivals you should definitely attend. I have already described three of them in my other story about festivals in Romania. Let’s see how the complete series of 7 must attend festivals in Romania this summer looks like.

Electric Castle

From the 18th to the 22nd of July you can attend the Electric Castle Festival, an electronic, indie and rock music festival near a** renaissance palace.** Not only is the site amazing but also the line-up. This year Damian Marley, London Grammar, Jessie J, The Bloody Beetroots, Dub Pistols are some of the names from the line-up.

You can camp in the camping area during the festival. As the last few years the weather was rainy, one should prepare themselves accordingly. I have one important suggestion: one item you cannot forget at home are rubber shoes. If it is going to rain this year also, you will thank me for this advice.

3 Smoke Olives

If you are on the quest of hidden festivals, 3 Smoke Olives Festival, which takes place between the 25th and the 30th of July is undoubtedly something for you. Taking place on an island far away from daily stress, this festival only accepts preregistered members and the access to the festival is only permitted to a limited number of people. The surroundings are amazing, the ambiance is friendly and the activities like watching falling meteorites from the beach are without question an addition to the electronic music.

Untold

Between the 2nd and the 6th of August Cluj-Napoca will host another great festival, Untold. Armin Van Buuren, Nina Kraviz, Pendulum, Wilkinson, Bonobo, The Prodigy, Dub Fx are just some of the artist that will be there for you at this festival. This festival is one of the biggest music festivals that take place in Romania, having won the title of Best Major European Festival in 2015. The main scene is the stadium Cluj Arena. This year the third edition takes place.

Colibița Bike Fest

Last but not least: a bike festival that takes place in the Bistrița Country between the 10th and 12th of August. What once used to be a local gathering, is now a national contest that takes place 35 km from Bistrița, near the Colibița Lake. Dirt Jump, XC Marathon, Trial, Mini-Dual during the day and music after a hard day’s work or relaxing after watching the contest. If you are a nature fan, you can extend your evening and go for a swim in the lake.

Which of this 7 must attend festivals in Romania will you add to your destination wish this summer?
