It’s a truth universally acknowledged that your tour of Naples can never be considered complete if you haven’t tasted all the delicious food the city has to offer. As a matter of fact, food alone is definitely a solid reason to come here and indulge in street food, pizza, and pastries. I can safely say that Naples is the capital city of the “Treat Yo Self” mentality: do you deserve two pizzas in a day? Yes you do; do you deserve all those babà and sfogliatelle? Of course!
Beside the famous traditional sweets and pastries that you can find in Naples, I think you need to know something that has been catching on lately: the Fiocco di Neve (Snowflake) by Poppella Bakery. Believe me, you have to taste the Snowflake, especially if you have a sweet tooth.
Located in the Sanità district, Poppella has been making the world a sweeter place since 1920. However, only recently it has become the new Mecca for pastries lovers all over Naples thanks to a new culinary invention: Poppella’s Snowflake (Fiocco di Neve). The complete recipe for this delicious little brioche filled with ricotta cheese is top secret, but what we do know is that Poppella has put on the market two new flavours: chocolate and pistachio. It goes without saying that I had to taste them all in order to write an accurate and detailed article for you guys (what a hard job...).
Spoiler alert: they are ALL yummy! I can't decide which one is my favourite! Thank god today is “treat yo self” day ;D
Although Poppella is located in the Sanità area, a little bit far away Naples’ historical centre, its Snowflake is the most delicious excuse to visit this different neighborhood of the city. Sanità is a place brimming with history, home to one of the scariest and most mysterious places of Naples: the Fontanelle Cemetery.
Visiting Naples is the best time ever to treat yo self! And remember! The answer to all your questions is: yes, you deserve it!
