Two weeks at the heart of Tuscany

A region at the heart of the peninsula, its name is synonymous with the splendour of Italy. Our imagination projects visions of distant villas, situated among copses of cypress and oak trees. Visitors love to stroll through the streets of Florence, whose many churches and buildings have been adorned by the greatest artists (Da Vinci, Michelangelo). Pisa, the university town, is also much loved, as is the chance to participate in the 'Palios' of Siena during the summer months. The little medieval villages of the region have much to offer, and attest to a Tuscan art that reached its apogee in the Renaissance. The history of the region is more ancient still, as the Etruscans built up a flourishing civilisation here well before Rome.
