Cyprus, the island of sun and sand. The cultural island of the Mediterranean sea and UNESCO's world heritage center. Cyprus is famous for its crystal clear water, its culture, its fantastic locals and, of course, its climate.

Except for the great beaches and beautiful landscapes, Cy[prus](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/a-cultural-stroll-in-larnaca-wzs3) offers a cultural opportunity both to its visitors and its locals. When we talk about "cultural beauty" we don´t only refer to archeological sites, such as "T[he Villas of Paphos"](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/the-villas-of-paphos-p614) or the "A[rchaeological Theater"- ](https://www.livetheworld.com/post/we are talking about a modern, different type culture that is related more to collectionist and passionate people that their history begun on 20th century.)we are talking about a modern, different type of culture that is related to the collections of passionate people whose story dates back to the 20th century. This is the kind of culture that I am about to present in this article. Unique, extraordinary museums are waiting to be discovered!

Humanity evolves, and people go aline with it. We started to experiment with several things to make our life more comfortable as well as more beautiful. Taking advantage of all the potential resources from mother earth, we have achieved a lot of great things. But everything started from somewhere, and people in Cyprus have saved some pieces to remind us so. So let's take a quick stroll to these amazing and unique places.

The Shipwreck Museum

As we already know, Cyprus has a crucial location from ancient years. War, conquers, and most trades were held through the sea. The Shipwreck Museum hosts the oldest trading ship that was raised from the bottom of the sea with all of its load.

This ship is famous because it was sailing in the Mediterranean sea in the times of Alexander the Great, but for unknown reasons, sank in open waters- just a mile away from the port of Kyrenia, where the museum is currently located. The ship was found in 1967, and its last voyage was dated 2300 years ago. The museum hosts all the goods and equipment carried in the boat, and this gives everyone the opportunity to relive the trade of those years.

The Motorcycle Museum

This museum is ideal for the classic motorcycle lovers that know how to appreciate a two-wheeled masterpiece. This Museum was founded 20 years ago by a motorcycle collector. He just wanted to share his love for motorcycles with the rest of the people, and especially with those that share the same kind of passion.

The museum is located in Nicosia, and the collection comprises more than 150 pieces, with motorcycles dating between 1914-1983. The parts that the museum host are AJS, MV Agusta, Matchless, Norton, BSA, Triumph, Ariel, BMW, James, Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield, and many more. Except for these fantastic motorcycles, the museum also hosts three police bikes that formed part of Archbishop Makarios III’s police escort.

Oleastro Olive Park and Museum

If you are a nature lover and you are looking for a more hands-on activity, you should definitely visit the Olive park of Cyprus. It is a two in one amusement option, as it is a park and a museum at the same time. The visitors will have the opportunity to see an artistic ecological olive mill with stones. Also, visitors will have the chance to gain an insight into Cypriotic rural life and to learn about the culture. This place is unique because it is featuring aspects of 60.000 years of Cypriot civilization of olive.
