Continuing my “Promoting Erasmus and studying abroad” pages, I now introduce you to the University of Bari. Let’s suppose that you are an Erasmus student or in general a student planning to study abroad for a semester or so. What are the factors that you would take into consideration before choosing your next destination and university? How would you organize your background research? What are the things that you’d love to know about your university in advance? Here’s a short research I did about one of the biggest universities in Italy that welcomes thousands of Erasmus students every year.

Welcome to the University of Bari Aldo Moro!

Background info; The university; The University of Bari Aldo Moro, one of the 58 State universities, was founded in 1925 and is attended today by about 60,000 students, across the Bari, Brindisi, and Taranto campuses. The University was named after one of its most famous students, the statesman Aldo Moro. Moro taught Criminal Law at the University of Bari for several years.

The university offers various courses for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students. Aside from teaching, the university is also focused on scientific research at the doctorate level. The University of Bari research centres are highly-interactive, having connections among different departments, universities, and other research centres.

The life in the city;

Bari is known to be at the cultural crossroads between Eastern Europe and the Middle East. By choosing to move there, you will be surprised by its interesting and lively atmosphere amidst bars and restaurants. Bari has a sleepy feel as you walk around. Doors that open into small alley ways are propped open with nothing but a sheer curtain hung up to shield their homes from prying eyes.

Known for its narrow streets, the old town, historic sites and intricate architecture, Bari is a fascinating Italian city worth visiting. Explore Bari and seize your expat opportunities while living there!

Housing and accommodation;

The accommodation service is organized to facilitate the participation of non-resident students in academic and university life. Only non-resident students may apply for a bed in a student residential complex.

Useful websites while searching for accommodation;
