Barcelona is known to be the hippest town in Europe. And after living in this vibrant and young city for over one and a half years, I can certainly confirm that legitimate image – thanks to the cool crowd of people, the immense art and subculture scene and the endless amount of stylish Vintage Clothing shops. Whilst spending some time in Barcelona and getting inspired by the colorful and expressive Street Styles, I highly recommend to check out some of the most iconic Vintage Shops.
When it comes to urban lifestyle, the district Raval is the place to go. And so it is for the best Second Hand Shops in Barcelona. The two main streets that hold a lot of Vintage gems are Carrer dels Tallers and Carrer de La Riera Baixa.
One of the most popular Vintage Shops in Barcelona is Holala Vintage Clothing – and there's not only one in Carrer dels Tallers, but also a bigger one just around the corner, the Holala Plaza. For over fourty years Holala has been collecting unique pieces in fashion and furniture over the whole world. Here you’ll not only find the finest vintage clothes for quite fair prices, but also vintage furniture, vintage video games, skate and surf boards from the 80’s, original accessories and books and magazines about art and fashion. Furthermore Holala likes to host a lot of cool events, like street art exhibitions or pop music concerts!
„It’s worth as much as it weights“ – that’s the philosophy of Flamingos Vintage Kilo, the first vintage boutique in Spain specializing in the sale by weight. The unique pieces had been carefully picked by vintage experts in North America and correspond not only to a very original style, but are also of high quality and in perfect conditions. While shopping vintage clothes in the basement of this cool store, you can also find freaky designer clothes and acessories on the upper floor – all for very fair prices!
Carrer de La Riera Baixa is a short pedestrian street filled with plenty of stylish vintage clothing shops – the ideal playground for vintage hunters. Interesting sidenote: Each saturday from around 1PM onwards, the shops display their nicest items onto the street, creating a market alongside with neighbors who set up their own tables with second hand clothes.
The Kilo Store belongs to the Group of Holala Ibiza Vintage Shops, only that it sells its items by weight. It’s not just cheaper than the average of Vintage Shops in Barcelona, but also provides the probably coolest vibes. Whenever you buy a fashionable item that suits your authentic style, you will be asked to be photographed for their street style blog on instagram and facebook.
Whoever wants to find some real treasures throughout original pieces from the 20’s to the 80’s, has to check out Lullaby Vintage Shop. As small as the shop seems, as much it will surprise you with the nice selection of retro articles in clothing, shoes, bags and accessories. This cute little store definetly makes the vintage lover’s heart beat faster!
So, if you’re planning on doing some shopping in Barcelona, skip the usual shops like Zara and Bershka and do some original Vintage Shopping instead, while discovering the trendy district El Raval.
