Why is Zürich worth visiting?

If you think that Zürich is nothing more than a financial hub, you are mistaken! Zürich is definitely worth visiting for its beautiful streets, picturesque landscapes, diverse shopping stores, and international cuisines (Have you had "Pho" in Zürich?) Plus, the tranquility of Zürich, the city with an extremely high quality of life, is perfect for distressing oneself.

I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed my trip to Zürich last week. First of all, the Swiss people I met were really friendly, helpful, and spoke perfect English. On my first day, I asked a lady at a cigar store about how to use the trams, and she gave me a detailed account of how to use public transportations in Zürich. By the way, the cigar store Davidoff et Cie was housed in a beautiful 19th-century building, which had always been a tobacco shop. Nearby was the famous Sprüngli store specializing in artisanal chocolate and mini macarons, which were both delicious! The Swiss certainly have a fine taste in sweet things. In the same area, around the tram stop called Paradeplatz was a shopping hub. Luckily, it was the sale season during my visit so a lot of stuff were 30-50% off.

Sightseeing in Zürich was spectacular! The Limmat River adds a romantic touch to the city. You can even take a cruise trip along the river. Other main attractions include the medieval Old Town, the art museum Kunsthaus Zürich, and the Swiss National Museum, which is housed in a building resembling a Renaissance French château.

In terms of food, the food scene in Zürich is surprisingly vibrant and interesting! For an excellent European meal, check out the restaurant Didi's Frieden, which is near the main train station. The restaurant is featured on the Michelin guide and has received many positive reviews. I was impressed with the outstanding meat dishes and the friendly service of Didi's Frieden. For something more international, visit the Vietnamese restaurant called Co Chin Chin, which serves traditional Vietnamese dishes such as phở, bún riêu, and bánh xèo. Co Chin Chin also offers creative dishes such as the phở burger with sweet potato fries as seen below. Reservations are recommended.

Travel tip: The best way to get around Zürich is using public transportations. In Zürich in particular and in Switzerland in general, the bus, tram, and train systems are immaculate! Tram and bus tickets are easy to buy from ticket machines everywhere in Zürich. Remember to validate your tickets on the left of the ticket machines before boarding the trams.
