Kyrgyzstan: A heavenly beauty of Central Asia
Gulzat Matisakova
I am Gulzat from Kyrgyzstan. I have a multidisciplinary background in non-profit communications and audio-visual activism. I always wanted to learn how to tell a story with visuals, and show a picture with words. That's why I studied journalism and documentary filmmaking. At the moment I am a freelance videographer. As a descendant of nomad ancestors, travelling is in my blood. My favourite kind of travelling is on foot, and in close contact with nature. I was lucky to be born in a country with a captivating nature, and it upsets me how little people know about it. "You are the first person from Kyrgyzstan that I've ever met," is the most common phrase that I hear from people. Luckily enough, I got a chance to write about my country on itinari. I hope that with what I will share, you will be able to picture yourself in Kyrgyzstan, home of majestic mountains and humble people.
