Venlo, located right on** the German border**, is a cute city in the Southern Holland. This city is a hub for industries and trade, but for Germans, it is the perfect place to shop! Especially people who live in **the Ruhr area **visit Venlo just to shop. Because of that, the city added **new shopping boulevards **to itself so that it is more attractive than ever to the shoppers of the surrounding areas. When it comes to architecture, Venlo was bombed heavily during the WWII, but you can still check out its many historical buildings. You can reach the city from Duisburg, Essen, Eindhoven and Nijmegen very easily. There are also several trains to Mönchengladbach, Düsseldorf and many more from other German cities! You can explore the city either on foot or by bicycle, which you can rent at the main train station.
As mentioned above, the city center has been damaged heavily during the WWII but you can still check out a lot of historical buildings. One of them is the town hall. **This Renaissance-style building **was built at the end of the 16th century. Stadhuis is definitely **the landmark of the city because it remained remarkably undamaged during the war! The façade **of this building is worth admiring. The medallions on the façade represent some of the city's most famous people! Don't forget to shop in one of the many cute boutiques and treat yourself with souvenirs!
Another must visit place is the Limburgs museum! Inside here, you can learn about the history of the wider region through** art**, **archeological finds **and **anthropological objects **of all kinds! The Limburg's Museum collection consists of around 61,000 objects. The core collection of Archaeology has 5 categories; Stone Age, Metal Ages, Roman Era, Middle Ages and New Age! You can also see the artistic and documentary illustration of items from Limburg’s history and culture! It is one of the best museums to visit with kids because there are tons of activities for them.
