When I want to impress my foreign friends during their stay at the seaside of Montenegro, I take them to a hidden place on Lustica Peninsula. The largest in area yet small cave, accessible only by small boats. While approaching it, the atmosphere gets calm, everything is quiet, and when you enter in, the whole world suddenly becomes blue. This stunning place called Plava Spilja (Blue Cave or Blue Grotto) is natural phenomenon and perhaps the most remarkable cave in the Montenegrin seaside.

In front of a large rock opening through which boats enter and leave, the water has clear turquoise tones and inside, situated in a large semi submerged cave, the water projects wide range of blue glow. Can you picture this scenery? It's a particular experience to swim and dive inside, especially when there are not many visitors so you can peacefully enjoy in its beauty.

The Blue Cave is the most attractive and the largest of many caves on Lustica Peninsula. It is close to Herceg Novi town and for getting to the cave you can take a boat tour from beautiful beaches Zanjice or Miriste. Lustica Peninsula has a large number of caves placed under and above water line. There is also an underwater cave system which you can explore diving.

So, if you have never seen something like this and would love to explore this magical cave, pin Montenegro as a new destination to your bucket list and start preparing for your trip! I promise you the unforgettable experience.
