If yes, then here is a place for you, a wonderful Lake Biograd in Biogradska Gora National park.
Lake Biograd is situated in the very heart of one of the three virgin forests in Europe which gives it one of a kind surrounding. The lake is placed not far from the entrance of the National Park and is easily accessible by car or by bus. Around the lake there is a 3 km long sign-posted walking trail, with educational boards which are usually drawing the attention of the youngest visitors due to its colors and paintings. Next to the lake there are bungalows to be rented, a place for barbecue and a small cafe/restaurant that is occasionally open.
Lake Biograd, the largest Montenegrin mountain lake and the most important lake in this national park, is placed in the deepest trace of the former glaciers. Its altitude is 1,094 meters, and its crystal clear water is filled by the river Biogradska and the stream Bendovac inflow. The length of the lake is 1100 meters and the width is 410 meters. The average depth is circa 4.5 meters, making it suitable for boating and enjoying the fresh mountain air and incredible scenes of surrounding mountains that reflect in the emerald color on the lake's surface.
Here, the nature takes care of itself, and people are trying not to compromise this harmony. Although the lake is open to the visitors, the human impact on this endemic region is highly controlled, making it is as low as possible, so that Biogradska gora and its lake would preserve the primeval beauty and cleanliness forever.
