Historically also known as Kotyora, Ordu is a port city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey! Ordu might be known for its breathtaking views, but here it is also the world's largest hazelnut producer! With its epic nature, delicious food, and medieval ruins, Ordu is definitely one of the most beautiful cities in Turkey. The history of the city dates back to the 8th century BCE when the Miletians founded Kotyora as a string of colonies along the Black Sea coast. The city flourished when it passed to the dominion of the Ottomans in 1461, along with the Empire of Trabzon. So, if you want to explore Ordu, here is your guide!

Cape Jason, aka in Turkish Yason Burnu, is a cape located at Perşembe district in Ordu. The name of this medieval church comes from the Mythological leader Jason of the Argonauts! The history of Cape Jason dates back to ancient times. Standing right next to the coast, this church was built as a pagan temple to protect the sailors of Black Sea's rough waters. Today, you can find this amazing church sitting in an overgrown cornfield next to a lighthouse. Cape Jason is currently a governmental environmental protection area. You can find the ruins spread all over the coast of the sea as well! If you look closely, you will notice the multicolored stone blocks, which were the original pieces of the pagan temple that used to stand there!
