Summer Sports Heaven; Fethiye!

With its breathtaking marina, amazing night-life and otherworldly sea, Fethiye is one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Turkey. It's in fact the only city in the world, where you'll find sarcophaguses in the streets! Fethiye is also very close to Bodrum, Dalyan and many other gorgeous Turkish cities with amazing beaches.  While here, you can enjoy your drink while gazing the Lycian rock tombs on the cliffs above the town. At the same time, you can swim in the Dead Sea/Blue Lagoon, and also do fun activities like lounging, parasailing, paragliding, canoeing and many more! The world famous beach and its blue lagoon, Ölüdeniz is known for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine, while its beach is an officially awarded "Blue Flag beach". In addition, it's a national nature reserve, where construction of any kind is strictly prohibited. Ölüdeniz in Turkish means "dead sea" and because of the stillness of the water, the lagoon is a nature preserve. After enjoying the mesmerising sea, you can do paragliding while admiring the unique panoramic views of the Blue Lagoon and of the valleys and mountains covered with pine forests. In addition, it is recommended to go scuba diving in order to witness the amazing sea life! 

In here, you can also hike the ancient Lycian Way and check out the amazing views of the sea, of the mountains, and the Ölüdeniz beach. Don't forget to bring sunscreen and a lot of water, since Fethiye is simply HOT!

The Gemiler island's history dates back to the sixth century AD and the island is believed to be home to the original tomb of Saint Nicholas, aka Nicholas the Wonderworker! Archaeologists believe that he was interred in the rock-hewn church following his death in 326, and that his relics remained there, until the 650s. Not only that, but this island hosts also the remains of several Byzantine churches, built between the fourth and sixth centuries AD. It is also known that the Island was used by Christian pilgrims en route to the Holy Lands.

The ruins can be seen from the sea and it is safe for anchorage. You can also enjoy a meal here in many restaurants, while gazing through the epic scenery.  

In the 1990s, the world famous Ölüdeniz beach became so crowded, so that a group of people decided to enjoy nature in a calm place. That's how their curiosity has led them to discover the gorgeous Butterfly Valley! This valley's name comes from the endemic butterflies, the habitat of which is near the waterfalls on the canyon wall, a bit furthest from the sea. From the top of this valley, the view of the bay is just breathtaking. You can arrive there by boat, enjoy a daily tour or even camp for a couple of days!
