If you are wondering where to find an excellent spa in Lithuania, the answer is clear for sure - in the Druskininkai town. This town is a resort and spa in Lithuania. It is an incredibly beautiful town with a perfect infrastructure, as well as amazing nature. So, it's time for a spa in the Druskininkai town.

Some facts

Let’s begin with some numbers. Druskininkai has eight* *spa centers, three sanctuaries and plenty of hotels and guest houses. The city was known from the early medieval times, but just in the 18th century, the mineral water sources were found. Since then, Druskininkai became the resort town famous for its curative mineral water. The name of the city is related to the salt because druska (Druskininkai) in the English language means salt. Also, the first aqua park in Lithuania was established in Druskininkai. A few years ago, the Snow Arena was built for winter sports to enjoy them all over the year. Thus, Druskininkai can offer not only the sanatoriums but the other activities as well.

Treat the body and soul

Despite the sanatoriums, in Druskininkai you can find few mineral water sources. Two of them have the highest concentration of minerals and are used for the health treatements. Moreover, this place is famous not only for the mineral water but also for beautiful nature and a good infrastructure for bikes, walking paths or tours around the Nemunas River. Also, Žemaitija National Park is nearby. Talking about parks, Druskininkai has two parks: K.Dineika Health Park and Vijūnėlė Park. The first one offers the health program that consists of the sun, water, and fresh air treatments. The park has a sunbathing terrace, saunas, aeroionotheraphy pavilion, cascading water baths and offering herbal tea drinking procedure. All this included for a ticket you will pay just 5 euros per day from 11.00 AM to 9.00 PM. The other park, Vijūnėlė Park, has a volleyball court, bike roads along Druskonis and Vijūnėlė lakes, a beach and a summer cafe Beach Bar Druskininkai.

Something more

One more nice spot in Druskininkai is the Musical Fountain. It is working every day from 10 AM to 11 PM, and the funniest thing is that you can book the melody of the basin for 2,9 euros. I do not know if it is worth it or not, but to see the fountain (especially in the evening) is lovely. Also, the town is famous for one more reason: the most famous Lithuanian musician and painter Mykalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis was living here. He grown up here, wrote a lot of musical compositions and drew a lot of paintings. For the honor of it, in the town, there is the M.K. Čiurlionis Memorial Museum with various exhibitions and some life details of this great painter and musician.

I hope you have no doubts about the Druskininkai town anymore. It has everything for your perfect stay and holidays - the high-quality spa centers, parks, museums and other leisure activities. This town is lovely for both - winter and summer seasons, so definitely it’s time for a spa in the Druskininkai town.
