Deutsches Currywurst Museum

Just in the iconic Cold War-era crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin, The Currywurst Museum, is dedicated to a street food called “currywurst” which is -I swear to God- the most tasty sausage I have ever eaten. Currywurst was found by Herta Heuwer in 1949, when Herta found some ketchup and curry powder from British soldiers stationed in Germany. Herta started selling this God-made recipe near Checkpoint Charlie and it was a hit! The sausage was so good, Herta started to sell 10,000 currywursts a week. Inside the museum, you can do many activities; a currywurst computer game, a French fry challenge and singing ketchup bottles telling the story of currywurst! Don't forget to eat your currywurst on the sausage sofa too!

Erstes Deutsches Bananen Museum

Let's get bananas! Like Bernhard Stellmacher, who collected everything and anything banana related, rebuilt the basement of his house, and opened the Banana Museum! In this "basement", you can find everything about bananas such as; banana flavored condoms, Andy Warhol’s banana print, salt shaker in form of a banana, Josephine Baker’s banana skirt and many more! Gurkenmuseum / Cucumber Museum

Spreewald is the heaven of pickles in Germany, that's why the Starick family opened the Gurkenmuseum, a private museum which is dedicated to pickles! In this museum, you can get to know more about the traditions associated with cucumber cultivation and processing. You can also see the 500-gallon barrels which is used to soak the gherkins, taste different kinds of pickles and on August, you can even attend a cucumber festival!

The Museum of Bread Culture

It is known that, bread is the building block of every diet on earth and sure Willy Eiselen and his son Hermann Eiselen knew that when they started the crusty enterprise in 1955 as an association and in 1960 as an exhibit! Inside the Bread Culture Museum, you can get to learn 16,000 artifacts related to the history of bread, 6000 pieces of written work about bread and even art collection including work by Picasso!
