The capital of North Rhine-Westphalia, Düsseldorf is one of the wealthiest cities in Germany. It is not only the economic center of Germany, but it also is a center of cultural activities and fashion! Düsseldorf is a great place to shop from super chic boutiques to organic supermarkets for every budget. The best shopping street here is the famous Königsallee, which is known as the “”! In the middle of the Düsseldorf city center, you can check out boutiques from leading German and international brands, luxury hotels, antique stores, home accessories, to clothing, and many more, while walking on a gorgeous street with a picturesque view. To make your shopping trip more fun, try this self-guided tour to uncover the street's stories behind the fashion, model, and money.

Königsallee, aka King’s Avenue in English, starts at the southern end of the absolute gorgeous Hofgarten park, which is my absolute favorite park to visit in Düsseldorf. The street is divided by the Stadtgraben canal, and every side is perfectly lined with trees and stunning bridges. The street itself also has undeniably beautiful landscaping. But when you are done with this mesmerizing view, it is time for shopping!

Königsallee has all the high-level international stores, which is why people call it the Champs-Élysées of Germany! With over 30 luxury stores like Armani, Gucci, Chanel and Kenzo, fantastic cafes, gluten-free bakeries, and high street shops, Königsallee is definitely a must-visit street in Düsseldorf!

A cake break

If you want to take a break and satisfy your sweet tooth, then you have to check out the Isabella gluten-free Patisserie! This must-visit 100% gluten-free bakery and patisserie offers delicious desserts. You can find this patisserie in two different locations in Düsseldorf, and one of them is inside the Ko-Galerie shopping center in Königsalle. After 24 years, I have realized that I can’t digest gluten anymore, and honestly, the struggle is real. There are lots of options in terms of gluten-free products in Germany, but let’s be real, nothing tastes the better than a nice slice of cake or a hot croissant. That's why when I saw this bakery, I wanted to give it a try. And oh my! Everything tasted incredible, from cakes to sandwiches, quiches, bread, muffins, macarons, and biscuits. The bakery in Königsalle is a tiny one, but you can always take a huge bag of goodies and enjoy it on the river bank. So if you are looking for super delicious treats without any guilt and stomach ache, you have to check out the Isabelle gluten-free bakery!

So what's better than cake and shopping combined?
